What is an Exempt Organisation?
An exempt organiation is a lawful body, approved by Natural England, the Welsh and the Scottish Government, that has been granted permission to certify suitable land for camping or glamping (known as certified sites) without the need for full planning permission.​
Who can benefit?
These organisations (referred to as 'clubs') work with farmers, smallholder, landowners and so many more land-based businesses who want to diversify or utilise their land. We encourage low-impact, sustainable commercial use of sites.

We aim to make earning income from your land more accessible, all while protecting the environment and supporting local communities. As an exempt organisation, we take the complexity out of certification, giving you a straightforward path to running your own site with confidence.

Once your land is granted certification by one of our affiliated Exempt Organisations, it becomes a Certified Site under that organisation’s club name.
For example:
If you purchase Landpods and receive certification through the Landpod Camping Club, your site will be officially recognised as a Certified Site under the Landpod Camping Club. Advertised on their website and part of their community with like-minded Landpod owners!

As a certified site, you'll operate in line with the club’s specific code of conduct, which includes guidelines on permitted structures, and the overall ethos and constitution of the club.
Becoming a certified site not only allows you to operate legally without traditional planning permission but also gives you access to a supportive network, ongoing guidance, and a trusted name that campers recognise and respect.​
